What to Expect
This full-day experience is held at our Market Harborough base and is limited to small groups (maximum of six participants) to ensure everyone enjoys plenty of flying time and close interaction.
The experience focuses on “going large” — meeting, flying, and photographing our biggest and most commanding birds in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside.
You’ll start the day meeting our expert falconers, who’ll introduce you to eagle training and handling. After a safety briefing and introduction, you’ll fly eagles, owls, and hawks in natural countryside settings — a rare chance to feel the power of these incredible birds as they return to your glove.
Enjoy a relaxed ploughman’s-style lunch before continuing with more flight sessions, offering amazing photo opportunities and an unforgettable insight into these apex aerial hunters.

Big Bird Experience – Market Harborough
Experience Our Largest and Most Impressive Raptors
Spend a full day face-to-face with giants of the bird world—including Olga, our magnificent Steppe Eagle, the world’s largest owl, plus the largest species of falcon and buzzard. This unforgettable day is all about “going large.”
Set in stunning countryside, the morning session offers hands-on falconry with a variety of birds. You’ll start small and work your way up, handling, feeding, and flying some of our favourite raptors—building confidence as you prepare to meet the heavyweights.
After a hearty lunch, we go big: flying Olga the Russian Steppe Eagle, Priscilla the Siberian Eagle Owl, a red kite, and a ferruginous buzzard—the largest buzzard species, bigger than many eagles—plus more spectacular birds of prey.
Companions & Spectators
Family and friends are welcome to join your day. They’ll stay with you throughout the experience, take photos, ask questions, and enjoy the action. While they won’t handle the birds, they’ll still have a brilliant time learning about them.

Dress appropriately for the weather. On colder days, you won’t be moving much—layers are important.

The ground is rarely muddy, so walking boots or sturdy shoes are usually sufficient.
